Beyond the main mission of marketing products, PHILAGRO France is also involved in the long-term development of products including their evaluation and registration.
Located near Orleans, ca. 150 km south of Paris, the Biological Evaluation Center (BEC) was established in 1997 on ca. 20 hectares. The site was chosen for its soil homogeneity and quality, the mild weather conditions prevailing in the region (Loire Valley) and its geographical location within Europe, offering the possibility of growing most annual crops.
Depending on the period of the year, six to fourteen qualified peoples work at the BEC. Researchers from SUMITOMO, NISSAN and NIHON NOHYAKU regularly cooperate with the local team and directly participate in the evaluation of new molecules from their respective Japanese research centers. Such organization allows to have a real approach of the European field problems. The BEC can thus be considered as a support to all other research centers in the world, particularly those in Asia and the United States.
